Columbia Airport Traffic Control Tower – Columbia, SC
We recently completed a project at Columbia SC which involved updating the airport Air Traffic Control Tower and installing a new roof with North American Roofing on the ATCT base building for the FAA. Working with the FAA can be very challenging due to government specifications and requirements. My normal position on these projects puts me in a position between the FAA and the contractors which can be very stressful. Most contractors have problems adapting to the FAA’s installation requirements that have a tendency to be more stringent than non-government installations. It is because of these conditions I am writing this email.
William Powell helped tremendously with this project! He made my job much easier than usual. He was always willing to help and never questioned the reasons for the requirements of the FAA. He was very professional around my customers and never hesitated supplying requested information. He personally inspected every aspect of the roofing project and corrected items as the job proceeded and easily worked through problems. Because of his understanding, great attitude, and roofing knowledge the project went very well and the FAA was very pleased with the end result.
I very much enjoyed working with William and wanted to make you aware of his contribution to this project. Thank you.”

“This project had an expanded scope of work with the phenolic foam and somewhat unrealistic time pressures. With all that said, the project was delivered on time and within budget…a perfect job.” Joe Edens VP Construction & Development, Edens & Avant

“Just a quick note about the crew. I have been through one new roof project before this one. This crew was by far the most professional and responsive crew I have dealt with. When they started each day they checked with us for any problems or concerns we may have had. When in the store they were […]
“A Final Inspection was conducted at this site on 11/19/09. According to assistant manager Melanie, at this time there are no reports of active leaks. The inspection found excellent quality workmanship throughout, including all metal detail. Overall, this newly installed Firestone 60-mil TPO roof assembly appears to have been properly installed and is in very good condition.” Mike […]
“In all my 44 years I have never been so impressed with a crew until I met Robert Hartwell (Field Manager) and his team. Let me tell you, you have a crew full of men and I have a store full of women employees. In my experience this has always brought challenges so we were […]
“Thanks for doing this for us. Your techs showed up as promised and did a great job. Mark McGlothlin (I hope I have this spelled correctly) was here this past time and the time before. He is the one that discovered the roof drain. He knows his stuff!! He is also very customer focused, easy […]
