Brian VerblePresident and Vice Chairman of the Board
As the third generation of family leadership, Brian began his formative years with the company working in the field, warehouse operations, and technical sales. After attending Duke University, Brian returned to the family business to set up and manage North American Roofing’s repair and maintenance division, NorthStar Building Services. In the late nineties, he and his father created Installed Products USA, a residential roofing contractor business serving Home Depot customers throughout the country. Instrumental in implementing Installed Products’ nationwide growth strategy, and after five years of successfully rolling out 28 offices and servicing nearly 2,000 stores, the company was purchased by The Home Depot and Brian returned to his roots at North American Roofing.
In 2003, Brian became president of North American Roofing and, in 2007, CEO. Much like North American Roofing’s founder, Brian’s grandfather Carl, he leads with an open-door policy and has surrounded himself with a top-notch management team with extensive career experience in each of their respective areas. Brian has the company positioned for growth with strategic material supplier partnerships, state-of-the-art technological advancements, systems and process management, and an overall environment that supports a team-oriented approach. His customer-first philosophy, more than 25 years of roofing experience, and a proven management track record are the right combination to ensure continued success for North American Roofing.
Kelly WadeChief Executive Officer
Kelly is responsible for the overall operations of the company. She directly manages every department, with the exception of Accounting, IT, and HR, and she works with the CFO in those areas. Kelly brings over 20 years of sales, marketing, and business strategy experience to North American Roofing. She joined the company in 2009 as the Director of Marketing, and moved to the position of Director of Sales and Marketing, then on to VP of Strategy and Executive Vice President, she most recently served as the company’s COO before being promoted to CEO.
Kelly has a depth of experience in management, technology, strategic planning, creative execution, budget planning/analysis, media execution and new business processes. After graduating from Miami University, Kelly worked in the advertising and marketing arenas in Chicago, Philadelphia, and Miami before landing in Asheville and at North American Roofing’s headquarters. Her experience includes work with such agencies as Rapp Collins Worldwide in Chicago, Young & Rubicam Chicago, PDi Communications of Miami, and The Goss Agency in Asheville, North Carolina, for accounts including MCI, Blockbuster, and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. She oversaw the marketing and other various operations for national flooring manufacturer Mannington Mills in New Jersey, ecommerce transaction provider iBill in Ft. Lauderdale, homebuilder Arizen Homes in Miami, and The Boxing Club fitness chain in Southern California.
Dwight MarwedeTechnical Director
Dwight has spent his entire 36-year career in the roofing industry. While attending Cincinnati Technical College and the University of Cincinnati, he worked part time at a fourth-generation roofing company. He joined them on a full-time basis in the mid-seventies and became their VP of operations. While there, he was involved in some of the city’s most prestigious projects: the tile roof renovation of Cincinnati’s historic Music Hall and the design and installation of the stainless steel and nickel roofs installed on Procter & Gamble’s world headquarters.
Dwight joined North American Roofing in 1988 and has held several positions with the company including VP of operations and most recently VP of technical services and sales. His industry expertise and industry knowledge of all low- and steep-slope roofing systems is invaluable in providing innovative customer solutions. In addition, he holds numerous contractor licenses throughout the country, from Florida to California. He is also a member of RCI, CSI, NRCA, and ICSC.
Jeff BrummettSenior Director of Sales and Marketing
Jeff has spent more than 20 years in the low-slope roofing industry. He has had various responsibilities in areas including sales training, project management, regional sales, national sales, and business development. In addition, Jeff has been responsible for sales management throughout the U.S. After graduating from SUNY Brockport with a BS in business administration/marketing, he spent some time in advertising sales and propane wholesaling/distribution before entering the roofing industry. Jeff has a well-rounded knowledge of all aspects of low-slope roofing, and thrives on providing solutions to the specific needs of customers.
Alex LissendenSales Manager
Alex has a passion for the unification of sales and environmental awareness. He received his BFA from Guilford College, completing his thesis in wood-firing locally harvested clays in the coastal town of Byron Bay, New South Wales, Australia. His background ranges from the local production and sales of folk ceramics in Western North Carolina to selling LEED-certified roofing materials nationwide.
As an account manager for Campbell’s Ceramics, Alex managed 25+ regional distributors spanning from the northern borders of Maine to the Panama Canal. Upon moving back to Asheville, North Carolina in 2007, Alex was introduced to the Verble family and began establishing new corporate relationships as a national account manager for North American Roofing. After earning his stripes in the field, Alex was given the opportunity to design and implement the company’s business development team, which included the placement of NARSI’s strategic account managers as well as the inception of the company’s Lead Generation Department. Alex is a member of the U.S. Green Building Council and stays involved with the company’s field sales through his secondary role as corporate sales trainer.
Darin BlackwellDirector of Production
Darin has over 25 years of low-slope roofing experience. He started with North American Roofing in 1990 as a laborer on an EPDM installation crew. Within a few years, he had worked his way up to become a field foreman, managing multiple EPDM, TPO, and sheet metal installation crews. Darin has worked as a project manager in the commercial roofing industry, partnering with clients to help them realize their expectations when making the investment in the roofs on their buildings. Over the last four years, Darin’s expertise and extensive knowledge have elevated him to the position of assistant director of production and, in the past two years, to director.
Tony DoverDirector of Quality and Safety
Tony graduated from Purdue University with a degree in building construction. He started with North American Roofing in 1990 as an estimator. After two years, he was promoted to assistant director of operations. In two more years, he was promoted to his current position overseeing the quality of installations but first and foremost the safety of North American Roofing’s most valuable assets, the employees. He is an OSHA construction outreach trainer and is a qualifier on several state contractors’ licenses. He manages several inspectors throughout the United States who help him keep North American Roofing one of the safest companies, as well as one of the industry leaders in quality installations.
Mary MichaelDirector of Training
As director of training, Mary Michael oversees North American Roofing’s training and staff development program. Mary directs and implements our technical and specific skill training for new and current employees. With more than 17 years of directorship expertise, she brings a wealth of strategic experience to her position. Mary graduated from Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina. Before joining our team, she served as an executive director with the YMCA of Western North Carolina.
With experience directly overseeing large teams Mary has provided management, training and coaching for thousands of employees. Her leadership experience, along with organizational development and business knowledge, ensures the highest quality and most relevant development opportunities are available to our North American Roofing staff team.
