Project Profile: Mitsubishi Heavy Industries

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries knew the roof system on their facility in Franklin, Indiana was in bad shape. It was determined that the 118,759 square foot roof needed to be replaced. North American Roofing knew it was important to specify and install a durable roofing system. The heavy amount of foot traffic that was partially responsible for deteriorating the roof prematurely in the first place. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries wanted a white roof, which allowed light to be reflected instead of absorbed. It was also imperative that the new roofing system be Factory Mutual approved per Mitsubishi’s requirements.

With this in mind, North American Roofing specified a fully-adhered, Carlisle 60-mil TPO roofing system with DensDeck cover board. The thickness of the membrane is crucial to its puncture resistance and the cover board adds a significant amount of durability to the overall system.
